About the design

I love my queer Texan friends. They make this state great (and keep Austin weird). This new design is a celebration of queer Texans and an independent fundraiser for their advocacy. Nicknamed “Texas Onward”, this expanded unofficial design inherits the Progress flag’s visual inertia and existing hues along with their meanings, all framed in three-pane Lone Star swagger.

Why a new flag design? This is not intended to replace anything, rather be an unofficial creative offshoot for people who want to rep this specific identity pairing. There are existing Texas+Pride flags, but none with the most recent 2021 representation (intersex), and only a few that incorporate the Progress representation (trans + BIPOC). For context, flags are frequently modified or combined unofficially, such as UT’s “Desert Cactus” Texas flag.

Proceeds: 100% of the seller's profits for this product will be donated to Equality Texas. The products’ prices include manufacturing/printing costs, fundraising portion (~40% of the price), tax, and shipping. (This is an independent celebration and fundraising effort, unaffiliated with Equality Texas. Also feel free to donate directly to them!)

Design reuse: The "Texas Onward" design may be reused freely for personal use, for commercial use by queer individuals/artists, or for commercial use by sellers donating a significant portion of related profits to a reputable Texas queer/BIPOC advocacy group such as Equality Texas. Other forms of commercial reuse are not permitted.
